1 of the many 'accomplishments' of the Iraq War

As war with Iran is  contemplated, it's worth noting the 'accomplishments' of the Iraq War.  One of the 'accomplishments'?  Creating the largest refugee crisis in the Middle East since 1949.

It's a topic most avoid.  A few 'patriotic' Americans, from time to time, feel the need to state (whine) that Iraqis who helped the US military need to get US citizenship.

They refuse to acknowledge that the war has destroyed Iraq, has made it unsafe for so many (including Iraqi Christians) but they do argue for the ones that helped them -- self-interest being masked as caring.

On the topic of war, not everyone believes that war with Iran is looming.

Those who fear that Trump is on the verge of dragging our country into war with Iran are forgetting, or deliberately twisting, what everyone knows about his reluctance to put troops in harm’s way needlessly and endlessly.

Zach Haller could be right.  We disagree on this.  We also disagree on the danger with regards to the government persecution of Julian Assange.

He believes this is some master chess game carried out by Trump that will somehow expose the Deep State.  Let's say that's Donald's goal (I don't believe it is), that would not change the danger that the actions are creating.

I don't dislike Zach Haller.

A number of e-mails are coming in about Zach.  I think Zach's an important writer and raises important questions -- whether I agree with his take or not.

Caitlin Johnstone is currently engaged in a Twitter argument with him and some non-community members are e-mailing (the public account since they aren't community members) thinking they can sway me to take sides with Caitlin.

They can't.

Caitlin previously got into a public attack, excuse me 'argument,' with Justin Raimondo.  As I said at the time, shame on her.  Justin was known to be receiving treatments for his cancer.  That does not make him a saint, it does, however, mean sane people should back off.  I can relate very much to Justin due to past health issues.

Caitlin was 100% wrong to attack someone at that point in their life.

For those who may not have noticed -- Justin doesn't have a new ANTIWAR column.  His last weekly column was May 6th.  He has thankfully resumed Tweeting.

Impermissible

When you are fighting cancer, you are fighting for your life.  If you're the biggest bitch or the biggest dick in the world, sane people still look the other way because they realize you're fighting for your life.  Caitlin refused to be a sane person and repeatedly tried to pick fights with Justin and to humiliate him in public.

So sorry but I'm not going to rush to defend Caitlin in any fight as a result of what she did to Justin.

And, in terms of Zach, he's tried to use his voice to highlight issues he believes in.  I support him on that and he's a strong writer even when we disagree on how we interpret things.
