How many times does have to tell you he wants to cut Social Security for everyone to believe him? And how many video clips have to exist for people to worry that these would likely all be devastating Trump ads, if Biden is the nominee? A 3-part thread...

This is a huge victory for our state workers in Colorado. Congrats ! We’re long past due enshrining collective bargaining rights for state employees in statute. I can’t wait to vote yes on this bill and see it signed into law.
  • FYI - Jim Messina's corporate clients include Google, Uber, AirBNB, a major private equity firm, and a major airline that has been fighting its workers' efforts to form a union
  • Unmentioned in the story: the latest IRS filings from Third Way show that Jim Messina's firm has been on the group's payroll. Third Way is the Wall Street front group whose mission is to destroy the progressive movement. Receipts:

Bernie Sanders' campaign on Saturday unleashed a full-throated attack on Joe Biden over the 2003 invasion of Iraq, accusing the former vice president of “rewriting history” over his vote for the war
  • Here's the longer part of the clip Team Biden deliberately left off: the part where 12 years ago -- when it wasn't easy -- I excoriated Biden for leading America into the Iraq War, helping his credit card donors destroy the middle class, and pushing corrupt bipartisan deals 👇
  • "Sirota one time 12 years ago said one vague non-specific nice thing about Joe Biden, and this means we must now vote against the candidate pushing Medicare for All and a Green New Deal," said literally nobody who seriously cares about the future of the country and the world

The gloves are coming off between and . This statement, from Sanders senior advisor Jeff Weaver on Biden’s Iraq War record: ““It is appalling that after 18 years Joe Biden still refuses to admit he was dead wrong on the Iraq War.”

23 Senators got Iraq right. Biden wasn’t one of them.
  • Joe Biden helped the GOP lead America into the Iraq War. Bernie Sanders showed the judgment and toughness to oppose that war. Sorry, Joe Biden doesn't get to just erase those facts from our country's history. That's what happened.
  • Am promising you this is going to be good
  • "Biden has struggled to explain his vote for the Iraq war, which has become a key issue in the Democratic primary heightened by recent conflict in the Gulf."
  • Dear : You don't get to erase your record helping lead America into the Iraq War. You haven't apologized or taken responsibility for your actions. showed the judgment & toughness to vote the right way. You don't get to erase that.
  • To be honest I was the only person in our school more geeky than Adam, so I really had no standing to mock anyone.
  • Completely and totally agree
  • Let me reiterate one thing: it was NOT EASY to air these criticisms in '08. Anyone who brought up any of this back then was excoriated. I'm no hero, but I'm actually proud I was consistent & said it, while still also saying something nice about Biden as we fought to defeat McCain
  • Kudos to my former young, brown-haired self for being consistent by criticizing 12 yrs ago - when it was hard - for pushing the Iraq War, helping the GOP pass the bankruptcy bill & being part of a gross DC dealmaking culture (that often pushed Social Security cuts)
  • Btw -- super classy of this guy to edit the video to edit out my specifically harsh criticism of Biden on the bankruptcy bill, the Iraq War, and the kind of Washington dealmaking with the GOP that championed Social Security cuts. Twitter!
  • Ha ha ha ha...you one single time said one non-specific thing that was vaguely nice about a politician more than a decade ago, before he did other things that you are criticizing...and you criticized a bunch of specific bad things he did. YOU ARE TOTALLY BUSTED!
  • One admission to make here: 12 yrs ago, I didn't really know Biden's 30 year history trying to slash Social Security. I shoulda known that record & referred to it. But as I was trying to help defeat McCain, I didn't know Biden's record on that, which is horrific and appalling.
  • Got me, dude. When we were trying to defeat McCain, I once said a single vaguely nice thing nice about Biden 12 yrs ago, before he KEPT trying to slash Social Security...and I also noted his horrific record pushing the Iraq War & helping Wall Street. Dude, YOU TOTALLY NAILED ME!

Listen, folks, here’s the deal, ladies and gentlemen: isn’t getting away with rewriting history about how he helped lead America into the Iraq War.

Imagine how the media would have treated it if Hillary Clinton did what Joe Biden is doing.

. taking it to Biden on VP’s Iraq record: “It is appalling that after 18 years Joe Biden still refuses to admit he was dead wrong on the Iraq War.” Says he ”enthusiastically supported a disastrous war, refuses to admit mistakes, and then tries to rewrite history.”
  • Here’s a “reporter” who is apparently more scandalized by honest non-personal policy criticism of the Iraq War than by hundreds of thousands of people dying in the Iraq War 👇🏻
  • BREAKING NEWS: Official campaign statement on the campaign's newest attempt tonight to pretend Biden didn't vote for the Iraq War
  •   Retweeted
I am actually surprised that is now lying and saying he didn’t vote for the war in Iraq. It’s such a preposterous lie. Obama campaigned against him on this in 2008, and because it was closer to the vote, Biden didn’t try to pull this. It’s sad to see, honestly.
  • . utterly destroys : “If he spent less time in boardrooms courting CEOs, he'd witness the incredible energy generated by Bernie’s campaign...But please do make sure Jim gives our best to his dear friend Theresa May.”
  • If you think about this for more than 5 seconds, it makes your brain melt. I mean, this is truly, truly, truly insane stuff.

Dear Media: Is anyone going to call this out? Is anyone going to ask Joe Biden about this? Or is there just going to be no accountability, no questions, no nothing, like there was before the Iraq War?
  • BIDEN, MONTHS AFTER THE WAR STARTED: “9 months ago, I voted with my colleagues to give the president the authority to use force & I would vote that way again today...I commend the president. He was right to enforce the solemn commitments made by Saddam."
  • WAR IS PEACE: , February 2003: "Let everyone here be absolutely clear: I supported the resolution to go to war." And yet, here's Biden's campaign pushing this out today: 👇
  • JOE BIDEN LITERALLY CALLED IT "THE RESOLUTION TO GO TO WAR": "Let everyone here be absolutely clear: I supported the resolution to go to war. I am NOT opposed to war to remove weapons of mass destruction from Iraq." - Biden, 2/3/03
  • Don't say we didn't tell you so -- we told you last week in BERN NOTICE that is making an aggressive effort to erase his record leading America into the Iraq War. Now Biden is doubling down on that effort:
  • THIS IS COMPLETELY INSANE: is having defend Biden's vote for the Iraq War by saying his vote for Bush's Iraq War resolution "was not voting for the war.” Apparently, war is peace.
  • Tomorrow morning, is gonna bring the 🔥 That's all I'm gonna say right now. Stay tuned.
