    Silly/goofy/embarrassing behavior is human. Whether you find it endearing or repellent depends a lot on who you recognize and don't recognize as fully human (often tied to whether or not you see yourself--definitely a human--reflected in the person doing the behavior).

    Both Warren and Sanders do goofy things. Every presidential candidate does! Whether people see this stuff as "phony" or "driven by advisers" is pretty subjective, and in Warren's case, often gendered.

    A thoughtful reported piece about Democratic primary scenarios/strategizing on the left. Re Warnie/Berren question, it seems clear that Berren is from Middle Earth and Warnie is a large cartoon dog. I'm pretty sure that your preference says everything about your left bona fides.
    At some point, Warren and Sanders will need to unite their bases to defeat the corporate wing of the party. I wrote for about the organizers preparing for that moment:

    . telling it like it is. Our bail system is racist and classist. Allowing people to stay in their homes with access to housing, employment, to health care, doesn't come at the expense of safety, it is the source of safety.
    Our cash bail system is a disgrace that disproportionately hurts Black, Brown and poor Americans. New York did the right thing by reforming its bail law and must not go backwards.…

    We need to make sure that we are working together so that none of these incredibly important bail reforms are rolled back. Great to see ’s support!
    Cash bail is an unreasonably punitive and financially burdensome system that disproportionately victimizes Black and Brown communities. Rolling back these reforms would blatantly disregard the voices of New Yorkers who voted to end it.
