"Where the hell have you been?"

"Where the hell have you been?" is the basic message in many e-mails today. (Though worded much more nicely.)

Blogger had problems. (The program, Blogger.) If you attempted to visit this site via a bookmark, you were taken to the Blogger start page. If you attempted to come here via doing an engine search, you were taken to the Blogger start page. (For some reason, Shirley reports, you could come to this site via the link on Betty's Thomas Friedman Is a Great Man. Of all the community members, only that one would take you to this site.)

A number of you, early on, did see this morning's two entries and knew there was something posted. But some of you didn't. That's why we have a mirror site for The Common Ills.

Near the end of the evening, most of you were e-mailing that you could now pull up this site and the morning entries. But you were wondering where the evening posts were?

Good question. Blogger said it was going down for thirty minutes. After an hour and a half of waiting, I'd had enough and took a break.

However, the usual Democracy Now! entry was posted at the mirror site. And it will be posted here as well. However, I did use part of the time to give a backstory on this site over at the mirror site because Polly in Wisconsion had asked for it. That entry is at that site and will stay there because they get short changed (by me) all the time so that's an entry exclusive to them.

What have all the problems with Blogger meant? Well, it means that we won't be attempting to post Ava & my follow up; however, we'll try in the next few days. It means we may not get to Molly Ivins and Lou Dubose's Bushwhacked section on Prissy Owens.

We will be doing our Indymedia spotlight. Since blogging problems prevented that a Thursday before, that's top of the list for me (and judging by e-mails coming in this evening, for you as well).

The e-mail address for this site is common_ills@yahoo.com.
