South Central Michigan Greens to Meet 1-3pm
Saturday, January 19 at Emmett Township Biggby's

The South Central Michigan Greens local will hold its monthly meeting
1-3pm on Saturday, January 19 at Biggby's Coffee, 1125 East Michigan
Avenue in Emmett Township east of Battle Creek.
One main topic on the agenda is the "real Deal" -- the Green New Deal
policies as proposed by the Green Party for years -- and how it applies
to Michigan. The local serves Calhoun, Hillsdale, and Jackson Counties
and has been reaching out to Kalamazoo County.
Environmental issues in the area, including a proposed pollution
remediation project in Jackson, will also be discussed. And co-founder
John Anthony La Pietra of Marshall will have an update on the Green
Party of Michigan's next Statewide Membership Meeting (SMM) at Muskegon
Community College on Saturday, March 16 -- including GPMI officers to be
elected then, and vacancies that could be filled before the meeting.
Since the SMM is on the local's usual third-Saturday meeting date,
schedule planning will also be necessary.
