His latest insights about the protest on @niqash
https://www.niqash.org/en/articles/politics/6033/Distance-Between-Iraq …’s-Politicians-And-Iraq’s-Protesters-Grows.htm
8) Advice for the protesters, approach to those who support you even if you have a historical hatred against them, formed negotiating committees just for one thing, amending election law. During these, stay in the streets, never go home, because it's the secret of your success.
7) The protesters is inexperienced, under various pressures, pushing to reject everything even early elections, they think the political class will go easy, then Iraqis will rule themselves freely! Let us not forget that Iraq lacks sovereignty, foreign intervention on the doors
6) For those who want to consider that the protests are a revolution against everything, tribalism & clergy, they are dreamers, they do not know that such a thing leads to chaos, historical examples in Iraq confirm that the big change leads to revenge & armed internal conflicts
5) There is important thing about Sadr movment, it is the popular political movement that was born inside, they lived in Iraq before 2003 & suffered like Iraqis, while the rest of parties came from abroad after 2003, they remained strange & didn't understand people suffering
4) Sadr is key player in the protests, on the day he order his followers to withdraw, the protests will back off in few days, the Sadr-protests alliance is necessary,he provide protection for them & his millions followers can make the difference by fill the streets with protesters
3) The first man in Iraq, Ali #Sistani, very supportive the protesters, but the protesters ignore that & criticize him & consider him part of the political crisis, The protesters don't realize their interest because they fell of suspicious foreign campaign against Sistani
2) Iraq is tribal country, those who win them, will controls on situation, while the protests don't want the tribes to interfere, but rather criticize them. The political class has a long experience in winning the tribes. The tribes support the protests so far, but this may change
1) Important facts about Iraq & 6 weeks of protests:
Iraq is a tribal country
#Sistani has the highest voice in the country
Muqtada Sadr plays big role in protests
There is big momentum of the protesters with regrettable lack of experience

What is happening in Iraq right now is pretty incredible. 100s of young Iraqis still protesting, still organising thier own community within the community. Last night militias shot and killed dozens of them. They ran, then they chanted, then they... sang.

Ayatollah Sistani has an interesting position on the PM nomination this time. He is taking a step back, and refuses to green light or block anyone.
In every Iraqi election since 2005, he has approved (or vetoed) nonimees during this process.
