Redacted opens in NYC, DC, throughout Calif, Chicago and Philadelphia today

Brian De Palma's Redacted opens today in select cities.



The film is a work of fiction but it is inspired by real life events -- specifically the gang-rape and murder of 14-year-old Abeer Qassim Hamza and the murder of her five-year-old sister and both parents.

This is one of the finest films of the year. If you have the chance to see the film you should grab it. More dates may be added but the film is under attack (Bill O'Lielly chief among the attackers). Wally notes this YouTube clip of O'Lielly calling for a boycott of the film. Does anyone listen to O'Lielly anymore? Some do, sadly. So if you need another reason to see the film besides how wonderful it is, there you have it: the right-wingers are attempting to destroy the film before it's ever been released.
