Everybody bombs Iraq

ANADOLU AGENCY notes the Turkish government is bragging that their latest bombing of Iraq has killed nine people -- they claim the nine were terrorists -- they always claim the ones they killed were terrorists -- even when they aren't.

In other bombing news, the US government has named the Israeli government as one of the countries bombing Iraq currently.  AP notes, "Israel was responsible for the bombing of an Iranian weapons depot in Iraq last month, US officials have confirmed, an attack that would mark a significant escalation in Israel’s years-long campaign against Iranian military entrenchment across the region."

  1. Falcon Base in Baghdad was built by the US military in 2003, handed over to Iraqi security forces in 2011, then taken over by Iranian-backed militias. The history of the Iraq war in one base. It was destroyed by an Israeli drone last week.

Though still treated as ho-hum (the 'resistance' has never given a damn about Iraq, they're superficial pricks who think voting Democrat gives them meaning and soul), this is major news and many people do realize that.

  1. Israel bombs Iraq; the media ignores it, demonstrating how israeli violence [aka terrorism] towards its neighbours has been normalised
  2. attacks again, on another fake pretext. After attacking a few days ago . Cancer in the region.

  1. The out-of-control Israeli rogue state just bombed Iraq. Israel can attack any country it wants in the region, and will never face consequences because the US protects it and blocks international action Can you imagine if Iran were bombing its neighbors?

  1. Replying to
Why is it OK for Israel to sneak everywhere? Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Persian Gulf region

  1. how many times has Iran attacked Israel? How many times has Israel attacked Syria, Iraq and Iran's assets? Who's the aggressor???
  2. Replying to   and
Why the hell is Israel bombing Iraq?

  1. There has been no attack against Israel by anyone! But Israel has attacked targets in Syria, Lebanon, & Iraq. Netanyahu is ASKING for it!
  2. Replying to
israel is putting itself firmly in the target sights by committing murderous bombing raids in Iraq. admittedly that he authorised his murderous militia to act in any way and freely on Iranian targets everywhere. Then they try to blame Iran if it retaliates?! WTF

The fallout?

MP Hassan Salem: "There’s an Israeli embassy within the US embassy in Baghdad. It has a security-intelligence-espionage wing. Its latest mission consisted of striking...the stores of the PMF. Iraq will not enjoy any security or safety unless this embassy is shut down."

The fallout also includes:

  1. Replying to
The irony is that these stupid and aggressive acts are pushing Iraq closer to Iran. It infuriates Iraqis, and already the former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has threatened Israel that if those attacks continue Iraq would retaliate & take the war to inside Israel.
  2. Former Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki on Friday warned Israel of a “strong response”. Al-Maliki also said that if Israel continues to target Iraq, his country “will transform into a battle arena that drags in multiple countries, including .”

Iraq's current prime minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi is such a disappointment that even GOOGLE's stripped him of any credit.  GOOGLE "Iraq" and you get this:

Iraq
Country in the Middle East

Description

Iraq, officially the Republic of Iraq, is a country in Western Asia, bordered by Turkey to the north, Iran to the east, Kuwait to the southeast, Saudi Arabia to the south, Jordan to the southwest and Syria to the west. The capital, and largest city, is Baghdad. Wikipedia

The presidency is a ceremonial role -- a point that the press stressed over and over until Mahdi became prime minister.  Since he's become prime minister (last October), Bahram Salih has acted as though he was running Iraq and the press -- the western press -- has gone along with that pretense.

So Mahdi is weak and ineffectual.

And has made no statement regarding Israel bombing Iraq.

Along comes Nouri huffing fire.

Nouri is a thug but that could be just the thing that allows him to return as prime minister.  If Iraq's under attack from other countries and the prime minister does not stand up, a thug like Nouri can ride this issue and might be able to ride it all the way back to the office of prime minister.

That should be a frightening thought for the world -- Nouri's actions in his second term as prime minister gave rise to ISIS.

In other news, AP reports, "Iraqi security officials say a motorcycle rigged with explosives went off near a Shiite mosque south of the capital Baghdad, killing three people and wounding 34."  And ANADOLU AGENCY reports an ISIS attack in Kirkuk that left 5 people dead and six more injured.
