Some Tweets from Kamala Harris

  1. Easter is a reminder that there is hope and rebirth even in the darkest of times. We must remember that today, more than ever. I am horrified by the attacks in Sri Lanka, where so many families were celebrating such a joyous day. Praying for the victims and their loved ones.
  2. We must embrace paper ballots and upgrades to our election infrastructure in 2020. Russia and other foreign adversaries cannot hack a piece of paper like they can a computer. Every voter deserves to have their vote counted. It’s imperative we work now to protect our elections.
  3. Marijuana laws have not been applied & enforced in the same way for all people. Too many lives have been ruined by these regressive policies and while more states are moving to legalize marijuana through ballot initiatives, it is not enough. Time to legalize at the federal level.
  4. Our nation's leaders should have acted to end gun violence in schools after Columbine. After Virginia Tech. After Northern Illinois University. After Sandy Hook. After Umpqua Community College. After Parkland. After Santa Fe High School. Inner City schools. How many more?
  5. It’s time we legalize marijuana at the federal level and restore justice to our communities. Communities of color have been disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs. We must reverse this trend.
  6. Twenty years after Columbine, the survivors are now confronted with how to tell their children about it — when their own kids are participating in school lockdown drills. The entire Littleton Community is in my thoughts today.
  7. My first-grade teacher, Mrs. Wilson, attended my law school graduation. I know just as well as anyone that our successes are shaped by the teachers we’ve had. We must give teachers a raise and invest in them as they’ve invested in us.
