Fort Hood hosts Women's History Month observance

FORT HOOD, Texas --The guest speaker for the Fort Hood Women's History Month observance will be a member of the first group of women to graduate from the U.S Military Academy.
Col. (Ret) Deb Lewis will be hosted by the 11th Signal Brigade at 1:30 p.m. March 18 in Club Hood here.

Lewis cleared an unconventional path for women in the military, serving in numerous leadership positions. She entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1976. She steadily rose through the ranks of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, commanding three army engineer districts from 1998 to 2007 and led a $3 billion reconstruction program during combat in Iraq.
