The fascist threat

In the three weeks since the Socialist Equality Party announced its meeting series, “The Threat of Fascism and How to Fight It,” developments have confirmed the enormous importance of these events. The terrorist attack in New Zealand is a warning. As the WSWS wrote, it “is the product of the deliberate cultivation, at the highest levels of the capitalist state in country after country, of the most extreme right-wing nationalism.” Since the attack, the media has worked to cover up the ideological and political inspiration for this horrific act of mass violence. The meetings will feature Christoph Vandreier, Deputy National Secretary of the Sozialistiche Gleichheitspartei (Socialist Equality Party, SGP) and author of the newly released book Why are They Back? Historical Falsification, Political Conspiracy and the Return of Fascism in Germany. Vandreier is a widely respected leader of the fight against fascism in Europe. He will speak on the essential lessons of history in the fight against fascism today. Meetings will be held in Berkeley, CA (April 8); San Diego, CA (April 9); Detroit, MI (April 11); Ann Arbor, MI (April 15); Cambridge, MA (April 17); and New York, NY (April 18).
