Exciting news to share on Earth Day!

Friend,
Today, on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the world just got its first look at our climate-comedy filmAin’t Your Mama’s Heat Wave!
We aired it during Earth Day Live, a massive global three-day livestream that kicked off today. The livestream is bringing together millions of people online with activists, celebrities, and artists to unite for action on the climate crisis. Normally, we would be together in the streets, demanding action from our leaders, but this year is different.
Coronavirus has laid bare the brutality and injustice of our current system and people of color are on the front lines.
And just like the coronavirus pandemic, people of color are on the frontlines of the climate crisis. In Norfolk, Virginia, where Ain’t Your Mama’s Heat Wave takes place, rising sea levels, race, inequality and public housing are all converging. And the question is, what is the best path to prevent disaster?
At the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we find ourselves at a critical crossroads where we must act to solve the climate crisis now, or face the largest scale human crisis ever experienced.
Ain’t Your Mama’s Heat Wave helps everyone see that the climate crisis is much more than a crisis; it’s an opportunity for us to right wrongs and truly make life on this planet better for everyone. It shows that we are equipped to not only survive but to work together for solutions that get us to thrive.
After checking out Ain’t Your Mama’s Heat Wave take our Earth Month pledge to vote for climate this November. And be sure to share this message and repost our #EarthDay content throughout the week on social media @HipHopCaucus @Think100Climate @RevYearwood.
