That pro war NEW YORK TIMES continues to foster stupidity

Poor Peter Baker.  His once promising career has been in the toilet since leaving THE WASHINGTON POST and joining THE NEW YORK TIMES.  He's offered this insipid Tweet:

Mass casualty events: Influenza pandemic, 1918-20: 675,000 Civil War: 600,000 WWII: 400,000 Coronavirus, 2020: 213,000 (so far) H2N2, 1957-58: 116,000 WWI: 115,000 H3N2, 1968: 100,000 Vietnam: 58,000 Korea: 36,000 H1N1, 2009: 12,469 Iraq: 4,500 Afghanistan: 2,300

Mass casualty events?

It's only American deaths.  The former Jerusalem bureau chief apparently can't see beyond US borders today.  Interesting, isn't it, that a world war -- World War II -- is reduced to only American deaths.  Excuse me, he's only interested in US military deaths outside of pandemics.

WWII?  Along with the 407,000 US military deaths, there were at least 12,000 US civilian deaths -- including 68 that died in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

He really is worthless, isn't he?

It didn't have to be that way.  Before huffing off from THE POST in a snit-fit, he was a talented reporter.  That talent calcified and today he's got nothing to offer.

He renders civilians invisible (including the 50,000 civilians who died in the Civil War).  But he wants to be seen as a reporter.  Keep pretending, Peter, a few people still buy your nonsense.  And they'll look the other way as you ignore the Iraqi people, for example.

The ICRC doesn't have the ability to be aloof and xenophobic like Peter.  They Tweet:

“I drew our house and this is my missing brother inside.” These are the heart-breaking words of Layla, a nine-year-old #girl in #Iraq showing strength, resilience and hope for a better future. On the #DayOfTheGirl
, we salute Layla, girls in #Iraq and across
Earth globe americas

In other sadness, Caitlin Johnstone tries to write about the US election at MEDIUM.  She wants you to know that every presidential election since the start of the Iraq War has featured a candidate who supported the Iraq War.  She's Australian and may not grasp how elections in the US work.  But this is a topic we've long noted here.  The Democratic Party has not had a ticket since the start of the Iraq War, a presidential ticket, that didn't have at least one member who voted for the Iraq War.

2020: Joe Biden (voted for it)

2016 Hillary Clinton (voted for it)

2012 Joe Biden -- running mate on the Obama-Biden ticket

2008: see above

2004: John Kerry (voted for it) and John Edwards (voted for it)

Had the nomination not been stolen from Bernie Sanders in 2016 and 2020, it would be interesting to see who he would have chosen -- he voted against the Iraq War.  Would he have been forced -- for 'balance' -- to team with a running mate who voted for the war?

Catilin appears unaware of the above with regards to running mates.  And she wants to focus on nonsense like where Mitt Romney stood -- he wasn't in Congress -- or where Donald Trump stood -- ditto.

The Democratic Party has not had a ticket yet, a presidential ticket, where either of the two voted against the Iraq War.

Barack Obama was not in Congress, he did not vote against the war.  Though THE NATION's Patricia J. Williams lied on KPFA's THE MORNING SHOW in 2008 and insisted that Barack had voted against the Iraq War -- a caller corrected her on her lie and she refused to admit she was wrong -- he was not in Congress at the time of the vote.  He would be sworn in as a US Senator on January 4, 2005 -- nearly two years after the Iraq War started.

In Australia, they're ruled by a prime minister.  Maybe that's why Johnstone doesn't grasp the concept of running mates?  Or presidential tickets?  I don't know.

Most Republican politicians still support the Iraq War.  It's the Democratic Party that pretended to be against it.  Pretended to be against it while refusing to run a ticket with anyone who voted against the war.

In response to Cindy McCain's nonsense of plugging Joe Biden as someone who honors 'the fallen,' Sarah Abdallah Tweets:

Joe Biden championed the illegal Iraq War. Joe Biden helped bomb Libya back to the Stone Age. Joe Biden supported Al-Qaeda “rebels” in #Syria. Joe Biden helped arm neo-Nazi militias in Ukraine. Joe Biden helped starve millions in Yemen. Joe Biden is the antithesis of honor.

Amen.

Isaiah's THE WORLD TODAY JUST NUTS?  He's had three comics so far today: "Outreach," "Howie speaks" and "A Couple Of Paramedics Just Standing Around Talking" went up earlier.  He has a fourth comic that goes up after this.  In addition, the following sites updated:
