The racist US press attacks Julian Castro to prop up racist Joe Biden

Yesterday's debate.  Julian Castro was correct.  But the US press and its punditry have gone all out to destroy Julian in order to protect Joe Biden.  It's racist.  They've had more than enough time to correct their falsehoods but instead continue to lie and pretend Julian was wrong.  He wasn't wrong.  If you're looking at the transcript or the tape and can't see that he's right about what Joe said, you may be a racist yourself.

Below are some people fighting against this institutional racism that attacks an Anglo Latino for 'daring' to critique an Anglo White that he shares the stage with.

Man, journalists are giving Julian Castro a really raw deal here. Look at the transcript. He is quite obviously right and Biden is dead wrong.

  1. It’s clear what was said. Biden: “If you want Medicare, if you lose the job from your insurance—from your employer, you automatically can buy into this.” I don’t think anyone should have to buy in to health coverage.

FACT: Joe Biden’s plan only automatically enrolls Medicaid-eligible (138% of federal poverty line) Americans in Medicare. ’s plan automatically enrolls everyone.

  1. Julián Castro correctly says Joe Biden's health care plan leaves 10 million uncovered

  1. : Julian Castro questions Joe Biden’s memory over his healthcare plan: “You just said two minutes ago that they would have to buy in...Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago?”

  1. Just putting it out there that Donald Trump is going to be far meaner to than ever was tonight....

  1. Julian Castro did nothing to Joe Biden as mean as what Biden allowed Orrin Hatch to do to Anita Hill.

Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Amy Klobuchar would not be getting praised if they mirrored Biden’s performance tonight and no one would be lecturing Julián Castro on civility if he were one of the white dudes on stage making the same moves.

  1. Biden: “you automatically can buy into this” : “Obama’s vision was not to leave 10 million people uncovered” Biden: “they do not have to buy in” The VP changed his position on stage. This is a major health care policy difference.
  2. “When a brown man is calling out a prominent white man, why is there this backlash that I don’t think would have happened if Senator Sanders was the one telling Vice Pres Biden if he forgot?” said Mayra Macias of the Latino Victory Fund.

  1. . was right, and yet people are bothered by HOW he reminded Biden of that. In a debate. Not about the details of the plan. Not about the number of people left UNINSURED. When it comes to style-over-substance politics, apparently different rules apply.

  2. I’m feeling very triggered by the notion that was somehow disrespectful or had a tone during his exchange with VP Biden. It reminds me of when ppl in college said I was too emotional when I was debating policy issues that were personal to me.

You are missing the entire point. You still would have to buy into Biden’s plan (as Biden said) whereas Castro’s plan you don’t have to buy in.

Yup. So gross, all of the coddling that goes Biden's way.
