  • Silly/goofy/embarrassing behavior is human. Whether you find it endearing or repellent depends a lot on who you recognize and don't recognize as fully human (often tied to whether or not you see yourself--definitely a human--reflected in the person doing the behavior).

    Both Warren and Sanders do goofy things. Every presidential candidate does! Whether people see this stuff as "phony" or "driven by advisers" is pretty subjective, and in Warren's case, often gendered.

  • A thoughtful reported piece about Democratic primary scenarios/strategizing on the left. Re Warnie/Berren question, it seems clear that Berren is from Middle Earth and Warnie is a large cartoon dog. I'm pretty sure that your preference says everything about your left bona fides.

    . telling it like it is. Our bail system is racist and classist. Allowing people to stay in their homes with access to housing, employment, to health care, doesn't come at the expense of safety, it is the source of safety.
