New York, NY – Today, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) announced its second annual virtual Veterans Day Parade: IAVA’s Veterans Day Support America’s Veterans (SAV) March. For the past 17 years, IAVA has served as a catalyst for the veteran community to come together in celebration on Veterans Day in person at parades around the country.

For the second year in a row, IAVA is giving Americans across the country an opportunity to support veterans by raising money and virtually marching 2,093 miles, the shortest distance from coast to coast across America.

“Last year IAVA reinvented Veterans Day with our first ever SAV March and it was an incredible success. We hope all Americans will join us for our second annual event and take advantage of this opportunity to engage in local communities and raise money as IAVA continues our important work for the veteran community,” said Sean Ullman, COO of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. “By pledging just $100 for each mile, citizens of this country can help provide IAVA the resources we need to provide critical services to our nation’s veterans and their families.”

IAVA urges supporters to participate by going outside, grabbing a flag, and creating their own community parade experiences. While Americans continue to celebrate this time honored federal holiday, IAVA is giving citizens an opportunity to pledge their support for our nation’s veterans by committing only $100 per mile they walk, run or ruck on Veterans Day.

IAVA is the voice for the post-9/11 veteran generation. With over 425,000 veterans and allies nationwide, IAVA is the leader in non-partisan veteran advocacy and public awareness. We drive historic impacts for veterans and IAVA’s programs are second to none. Any veteran or family member in need can reach out to IAVA’s Quick Reaction Force at quickreactionforce.org or 855-91RAPID (855-917-2743) to be connected promptly with a veteran care manager who will assist. IAVA’s The Vote Hub is a free tool to register to vote and find polling information. IAVA’s membership is always growing. Join the movement at iava.org/membership.
