Watch the full episodes at https://www.portable.tv/series/redact...

Naomi Karavani interviews the UK-based freelance journalist Mohamed Elmaazi this week on VIP. He's published with numerous outlets including The Dissenter, Jacobin, The Canary and The Electronic Intifada. They go into the case that the US is presenting against Julian Assange, its implications for the future of journalism, and more. Elmaazi has covered every single hearing in Julian Assange’s extradition case since it started. Also in this episode: Then Anders Lee has a timely economics lesson from history. This lesson takes us to Sweden in the 1970's where labor organizers pursued a left-wing economic agenda. The Meidner Plan would've seen more of the economy in the hands of working people over time. Similar policies were used to create the nation's generous welfare system. The plan, however, didn't survive right wing attacks. ~ Full episodes of Redacted Tonight will no longer be available on YouTube.
