In the US, there is more than enough money to spend for the things that mattered to us.
Let's do some math:
Students spend $60 BILLION dollars in tuition every year.
America spent $2.4 TRILLION (with a T) on the Iraq war.
2.4 TRILLION divided by 60 BILLION equals... 40!
For the cost of one war, we could have funded tuition free college for FORTY YEARS.
War isn't something we scream money be spent on. The US government is non-responsive, no matter which party controls Congress or controls the White House.
They waste our money -- that's our tax money -- and they waste our lives.
We could have universal healthcare, we could have government funded college. We don't get those things. Instead, we get crumbling infrastructure, libraries with less staffing and open less hours, parks in need of updating, etc.
But all the money you can imagine goes into these never-ending wars. All they 'accomplish' is destroying the lives of so many people.
We really need to let the government -- which works for us -- know that they are on notice and we will fire them if they don't start serving our needs.
Of course, idiots like John Cusak don't get that. They're too busy attacking some die-hard Democrat, implying she's not willing to vote for whomever gets the nomination when Neera is ready to do that and when this readyness to do that is actually part of the problem.
Blind loyalty is not the answer.
Blind loyalty is used against the American people as is fear.
Hillary Clinton lost because she ran a lousy campaign. She could dance onstage with celebrities but she couldn't address the needs of the average person (how sad because in 2008, she was able to raise real issues).
Blind loyalty is not the answer. Demanding politicians earn our votes is the answer.
