Isakson to Participate in Fireside Chat Hosted by American Legion
Panel to include Senate, House leaders of Veterans’ Affairs committees to discuss 116th Congress legislative priorities
ATLANTA – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, will participate in a congressional fireside chat in Washington, D.C., hosted by The American Legion on Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the committee’s priorities during the 116th Congress. Leaders of both the Senate and House Veterans’ Affairs Committees will participate, and the discussion will be moderated by Leo Shane from the Military Times.

The Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs is chaired by U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., in the 116th Congress. Isakson is a veteran himself – having served in the Georgia Air National Guard from 1966-1972 – and has been a member of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs since he joined the Senate in 2005. Isakson’s home state of Georgia is home to more than a dozen military installations representing each branch of the armed services as well as nearly 700,000 veterans.
