The Gray Area -- Phase III (Six new episodes!)

"A JOYFUL DANCE IS HARDLY A CONTRADICTION!"

Greetings from The Gray Area! We hope that you are adjusting to these (hopefully!) waning days of the pandemic!

After many months of work, we're excited to report that the last six episodes of the second season are now in release this summer on a biweekly basis! This new sextet ties many of the story strands we've been gradually stitching together over the last two seasons. The first of the six new episodes, "West with the Light," picks up with Miss Gaskell, who is fending off boredom (and the Receptionist’s peppy interventions) while trapped in an interdimensional waiting room. But a number of unexpected new visitors provide vital new clues to her purpose and journey, which will become clearer by the end of the season. We've also just released "Marching Orders," a story set in 1911. A young British gentleman dukes it out against the austere whims of his Edwardian-minded father. But two travelers reveal that his role in the universe is much bigger than he ever could have imagined.

All this is part of The Gray Area, an all-genre audio drama told in interconnected stories that you can listen to for free. You can listen to new stories every other Tuesday from now through the end of August.

We're also thrilled to report that we recently received an NYFA grant -- part of a campaign to revive the arts scene in New York City. We're deeply honored and grateful by the City's faith in our wildly ambitious artistic project and we're now in the early stages of planning an audio drama to be performed in front of a live audience at some point in the fall. We will have additional details on this exciting hybrid between audio drama and theatre in the coming weeks.

Additionally, to keep arts alive as the world begins to reopen, we're also releasing the Inside the Gray Area commentary tracks for free for the last six episodes. So you can listen to how we went about making this show after you've listened to the stories. We've also included a number of behind-the-scenes videos for all of the individual episodes at the main Gray Area website.

You can follow our release schedule and catch up on the show with our handy episode guide.

If you'd like to connect with us, you can follow us on Twitter, sift through numerous behind-the-scenes videos on our Instagram account, and even watch some of our zany offerings on TikTok

We can also be found on iTunesSpotifyGoogle PlayLibsynStitcher, and we have an RSS feed!

So until next time, wherever you are in the universe, be good to yourself and kind to others. Thank you for listening!

Edward Champion
