“Biden clearly knows this is an enormous weakness in the Democratic primary, and it would be a major political vulnerability in a general election. Bernie does not have that same vulnerability.”

  • “The document included a review of moments dating back to 1983 in which Biden expressed openness to cutting Social Security & backed legislation that could have led to cuts...The memo contrasted this with Sanders’s history of opposing Social Security cuts”

Both President Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders have critiqued the media. David Sirota, a Sanders campaign adviser, says the difference is that Trump “impugns the existence of the media” but Sanders’ critique is that it “ignores the fundamentally important public policy issues.”
  • Joe Biden pushed to raise the Social Security retirement age, reduce Social Security benefits and freeze funding for Social Security. Those are verifiable and undeniable facts. The word “cut” is entirely accurate and appropriate — even if it makes you upset.
  • 22 years after his historic win in Michigan, will be in Michigan to endorse for president.

  • Journalists’ job is to be fair and accurate, and to focus on the important issues. is one of the good ones because he knows that’s the job.

Jesse Jackson endorsed Bernie Sanders today & will appear with Sanders at his rally in Grand Rapids, MI. The relationship between the two goes back decades: then Burlington Mayor Bernie Sanders endorsed Jackson for president in 1988. W/⁦

The Rev. Jesse Jackson endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders for president, saying Sanders represents the most progressive path that will help African Americans catch up socially and economically. "Our needs are not moderate," he said.
  • Let me reiterate what I said in this story: One of the reasons is the strongest general election nominee is because Trump cannot impugn Bernie's record consistently fighting to protect and expand Social Security
  • Here you go: Joe Biden repeatedly worked with Republicans to try to cut Social Security, but Bernie fought to block those cuts — which is a really good thing!

  • C-Span & the Congressional Record are there so we can scrutinize politicians. The whole reason they EXIST is literally for that purpose. Think about that before you say tweeting links to these sites is “toxic” during an election when we’re supposed to be scrutinizing politicians.
  • I have a theory: Nobody *actually* thinks tweeting links to C-Span videos is “toxic” behavior. They just don’t like that the C-Span videos humiliate their preferred candidate, but since they are unable to refute the videos, they do a misdirect by insisting the tweets are “toxic”
  • To those saying never pushed Social Security cuts: Are you saying Biden himself was lying in his two Senate floor speeches when he insisted that on four occasions he tried to freeze Social Security funding, which would result in cuts?
  • To those saying never pushed Social Security cuts: Are you saying Biden was lying when his press release touted his vote for a balanced budget amendment that cut Social Security as proof he was "one of the Senate's most conservative Democrats"?
  • To those saying never pushed Social Security cuts: Are you saying groups in this Delaware newspaper story including AARP were lying? Was Biden lying when he "said the balanced budget amendment would result in Social Security cuts" & then he voted for that amendment?
  • Biden could say “I was wrong to support Social Security cuts.” He could say “I’ve changed my position.” Instead, he and his campaign are going with total disinformation, insisting he never even tried to cut Social Security, when we all know he did. 👇🏻
  • For all the Beltway Dems who purport to be worried about “disinformation,” there’s been very little outrage about Team Biden mounting a flagrant disinformation campaign to try to erase Biden’s record and votes from history.
  • We should be clear about what this is: and his staff are litetally trying to erase history. It’s an absolutely indisputable fact that Joe Biden repeatedly tried to cut Social Security. Biden and his staff are pretending these videos don’t exist.
