Roseanne Barr's son reads James Gunn's tweets

Jake Pentland has always defended his mother against the obvious double standard in Hollywood towards his mother. In this video he discusses the hypocrisy in her unprecedented punishment and lack of forgiveness. Citing the rehiring and forgiveness of James Gunn (numerous pedophile and "tranny" jokes) by Disney(The parent company of ABC), he asks the question: "Why has my mother not been forgiven?"

A few comments.

1) Roseanne should not have been fired to begin with.

2) She has recently called out the hideous Sara Gilbert.  She is right to do so. As Ava and I have said at THIRD, ABC wanted to fire Sara throughout the original run of ROSEANNE because she was 'different' and Roseanne stood by Sara. Sara was 'different.'  She was a lesbian -- even before she knew it (or says she did), ABC male execs knew.  And they didn't like it.  When Sara went off to college, for example, in real life, it was another time for them to argue to Roseanne that the role needed to be recast.  They never liked Sara and Roseanne stood up for her and stood by her.  Roseanne's thanks for that was to have Sara immediately stab her in the back when the world was outraged over a Tweet.

Everything about Sara Gilbert is fake and a lie.  That includes her last name.  She took the name Gilbert because it would connect her to her famous half-sister Melissa Gilbert.  Sara's not a Gilbert and never was.  That was her mother's first husband.  She's a lesbian who refused to come out until CBS told her she had to -- they feared that THE TALK would suffer if she was outed.  Please note, by the time she came out, Sara was in a nine-year relationship with a woman and they had two children (one that Sara gave birth to).  She was the mother of two and in a relationship and the closet case was so closeted she had herself and her family living a lie so she could appear to be 'straight.'  That's the real Sara and even now her self-internalized homophobia is so great everyone who knows her mocks her for it.

3) It wasn't enough that Roseanne leave the show, she could make no money off it.  She must be stripped of everything.  In what world would they do that to a man?  She must be banished and all of her work must be erased.  She created those characters.  It was bad enough when ABC let a man steal credit when the show first started, but this country stood by while a woman was stripped of her credit and the ownership of her work.

4) This was because Roseanne supports Donald Trump.  The idiots just couldn't let that go because Donald's the worst thing they've ever known.  I disagree with Roseanne on Donald and I don't like Donald and I haven't liked him forever and a day.  That said, if you think he is the worst person who has ever occupied the Oval Office, you need to learn your history -- both recent and longterm.  You also need to grow the hell up because there are going to be plenty of politicians who get into office that you're not going to like and you don't need to take your frustration and anger out on other people.  Roseanne's free to believe and support whatever she wants.  Except right now, apparently, at this time in our history.  Right now, she can lose everything because of it. That's ridiculous.  The bubble people need their little worlds popped so that they can start to deal with reality.

5) The show was funny.  Was.  And America tuned in for it.  Without Roseanne, over half the viewers are gone.  Without Roseanne, it's not funny and it has nothing say.

6) I'm sorry.  It has a lot to say about Sara Gilbert's self-internalized homophobia.  Roseanne fired and Sara calling the shots means her aged and ugly Darlene had not one boyfriend this past season, not two, but three.  Have you looked at her pointy, saggy face?  Three boyfriends?  In what world.  Oh, that's right, in the world where Sara Gilbert still can't accept that she herself is a lesbian.  In that world, her character Darlene must be constantly pursued by men.  Plural.

7) Good for Jake for defending his mother.  I know Roseanne and, as I've said repeatedly here and at THIRD, she is not a racist.
