Some Tweets from Bernie Sanders

Tonight, Bernie Sanders had a Town Hall that FOX broadcast.  Ava and I covered it in "Bernie sets a new standard (Ava and C.I.)."

  • Thank you for supporting a fair, policy-based Democratic presidential primary process.
  • Should we raise the minimum wage to a living wage? Yes! Should we rebuild our crumbling infrastructure? Yes! Should we ensure veterans get health care they earned? Yes! Should we protect Social Security and Medicare? Yes! A majority of the American people agree.

Wow! This backfired spectacularly on Fox News.
  • ., tonight you have the opportunity to do something extraordinary: Sign the resolution ending U.S. support for the catastrophic Saudi-led war in Yemen.
  • No, Donald Trump. Climate change is not a hoax. We have a moral responsibility to transform our energy system away from fossil fuels to protect this planet and create millions of good jobs.
  • We don't need to demonize immigrants. We must welcome people who are fleeing violence and pass comprehensive immigration reform.
  • Our trade deals were written by large multinational corporations for multinational corporations. Trade is a good thing. But we need a trade policy that works for working families, not just large corporations.
  • Whether you are poor or rich you have the right to get the education you need. That is why we must make public colleges and universities tuition-free.
  • Raise your hand if you're sick and tired of your private health insurance company. We need Medicare for All.
  • I want everybody in this country to have health care, education and drinkable water, not toxic water. We are fighting for a society where everyone can live with dignity and security.
  • Democratic socialism is about creating a government and economy that work for all Americans, not just the top 1%.
  • I disagree with Donald Trump on virtually every issue. But what upsets me the most, is that whether you are progressive or moderate or conservative, I don’t think the American people are proud that our president is a pathological liar.
  • I just released 10 years of taxes. , please do the same.

It’s an honor to be National Campaign Co-Chair for and on April 16th, I will be sitting down to answer your questions about how our movement plans to solve the serious issues facing America. You can join my AMA here:
  • On this , let's remember that Trump’s tax policies will raise taxes on millions of working people, while giving $4 billion in tax rebates to Fortune 500 companies and continuing to allow profitable companies like Amazon and Chevron to pay zero in federal income taxes.
  • The time is long overdue for the U.S. government to stand with rural America. We need policies for rural America that represent the needs of working people and farmers, not agri-business and multi-national corporations.
  • Trump said that he would stop the pharmaceutical companies' greed. Well, during the first half of last year, there were 96 drug price increases for every price cut. We will defeat Trump and do what he won't: bring real relief to Americans who can't afford their medicine.
  • 49% of all new income goes to the top 1%. Meanwhile millions of Americans are forced to work 2 or 3 jobs just to survive. And over half of our people live paycheck to paycheck. That is not justice.
  • Trump said he would stop Wall Street from "getting away with murder” and re-instate Glass-Steagall. Then he signed a law to deregulate Wall Street and give big financial institutions a massive tax cut. What our campaign is about is ending Wall Street's greed, not enabling it.
