    I don't know any Democrat that wants to go back, not even Joe. We have Republicans trying to do that already. Joe's got foreign policy chops no other Democrat has, though.

He voted for the Iraq War that cost trillions & left piles of tortured & dead. He voted for all Clinton's bank deregulation bills which helped cause the crash. It matters not if he was sorry later. Nostalgia entices repeat mistakes by obsuring the wrong. Let's not do that.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez notes that we need to go forward, not go backwards by embracing a presidential run by noted failure Joe Biden.  Grabby hands does not have a history that impresses.  He failed Anita Hill, he failed America repeatedly.  His record is a thing of the past and that's where he should remain.


And it really is past time that the Democratic Party come up with a ticket which doesn't contain at least one person who voted for the Iraq War. 

Journalist Julian Assange and whistle-blower Chelsea Manning continue to be persecuted.  Former Australian ambassador Tony Kevin decries the persecution.

    Glad to debate you and on or on public interest value of what & did in making public this warcrime that typified homicidal way in which US&allies conducted Iraq invasion & aftermath. Fallujah, Abu Ghraib come to mind.
    He might want to confer with Peter Greste before going too much further

    . John, why did videos of Baghdad aerial massacre and e.g of systemic atrocities in sacking of Fallujah so appal world? You don’t credit key role of whistleblowers & publishers in stimulating public outrage against not ‘fiascos’ but war crimes.
    Tony,I think you’re conflating issues here.Few would argue that the so-called global war on terror has been anything less than a multi-trillion dollar fiasco that saw many needless deaths.But that didn’t require Manning/Assange/WikiLeaks to be self evident.Mainstream media did it …

    It seems in yr moral world, whistleblowing & publishing news on war crime atrocities are acts equivalent to robbing banks? Why would you assume fair trial for and publisher in perpetrating country that gave us Fallujah, Abu Ghraib etc?

    If I help people attempt to break into a bank in Australia as an American citizen,if arrested and extradited for that crime, I would get a fair trial there for my crime. Assange is indicted for directing&helping Manning commit theft. That’s what he’ll be tried for if extradited.

It's a shame Australia's current government can't speak out for one of their own (Julian Assange).

Julian Assange is not a U.S. citizen, he’s an Australian. WikiLeaks is not a U.S.-based media organization. If the US government gets Assange extradited, prosecuted and incarcerated, it will legitimize its right to go after anyone, anyhow, anywhere, anytime. Freedom for all
